The NERRI partners are looking forward to going to Rome, where the Consortium Meeting will take place on June 22nd and 23rd. The Meeting, organized by the Italian Partners of SISSA (International School of Advanced Studies) and TLS (Toscana Life Sciences) in collaboration with EBC (European Brain Council), is an important occasion to discuss the results achieved so far and what needs to be done in the following months.
It will be the time to discuss the completed MML (Mobilization and Mutual Learning) activities and to share the lessons learned from each of them. This gathering will have an important role in the planning of NERRI future actions: what worked well, what didn’t work so well, and, most importantly, the reasons behind the results.
The NERRI Consortium is a source of ideas and the meeting in Rome will show how much NERRI members can learn from each other approach to the challenge of fostering the debate on neuro-enhancement and on Responsible Research and Innovation.
During the meeting, NERRI partners will discuss the next planned MML activities and the organization of the NERRI final events. They will also discuss the NERRI educational kit realized by Experimentarium and the communication activities developed by the Consortium, they will analyze what needs to be done and what could be improved.
The beautiful framework of the MACRO Museum will also host a public event: a round table will be organized with the participation of the NERRI partners George Gaskell (London School of Economics), Helge Torgersen (Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften, Vienna), Alexandre Quintanilha (Instituto de Biologia Molecular e Celular, Porto), Vincent Torre (International School of Advanced Studies, Trieste), together with Elisabeth Hildt (Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago), Gian Maria Galeazzi (Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia), Stefano Vicari (Neurologist and Neuropsychologist, Head of the Unit of Children Neuropsychiatry IRCCS “Bambin Gesù” Hospital, Rome) and Giuseppe Ducci (Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist, Director of the UOC Psychiatric Diagnosis and Treatment of ASL E DSM in Rome (S. Filippo Neri Hospital). Agnes Allansdottir (Toscana Life Sciences Foundation, Siena) will moderate the event. It will be the time to discuss the results achieved during the NERRI project, comparing the opinions of scientific experts. Stay tuned!
